This fortnight's challenge was to use Close to Cocoa, Ruby Red and Old Olive and to use a new stamp set. Well, not only did I use the new stamp set, but a whole new range of products from SU's 2009-2010 IB&C! Can you spot them all?
The new Good Friend stamp set, On Board So Tweet - an assortment of more than 80 images in six 22.9 x 22.9 cm sheets which also coordinates with the Sunny Day Simply Scrappin kits for the scrapbookers amongst you, the new range of 1 1/4" (3.2cm) of Striped Grosgrain Ribbon in Old Olive and last, but my no means least, the fabby new range of Stampin' Glitter which comes in sets of five (contains approx 7.1g in each) pots in different colours!
This stamp set needs the two-step stamping method, in this case, the legs and beak had to be stamped separately and "attached" to the main body of the bird. I inked the chipboard pieces, and used the Stampin' Up! markers to colour in the sides too in the colours as shown. I used the kissing technique on the chipboard flower with the white craft ink to add some pattern as it was too plain without it. For the flower centre, SU's new two way glue pen covered the entire surface including edges and I just dipped it in the pot of gold glitter in the Fine Galaxy range. I added some glitter to the bird's tail and the flower too for an extra bit of bling!
I had no room to add the sentiment from the set on the front of the card so put it on the inside of the card, used SU's new Whisper White Craft Stampin' Pad to echo the images on card front. The sentiment was stamped in Ruby Red, matted on to Ruby Red ink on Whisper White cardstock and the right edge had 3 rows of holes as a feature.
