Announcing the winner of our Prize Draw at Sandown

Congratulations to Irene of South Wonston for winning the Prize Draw at the Sandown Show this January and a BIG "Thank You" to everyone who braved the elements to come and visit!

I've been busy making thank you cards - these are just some of them!  They were to say "thank you" to all those who took part in our prize draw who are local to me  to inform them who the lucky winner was!  Do you want a closer look?

The larger butterfly is from the Papillon Potpourri set (page 115 Annual Catalogue) and has a co-ordinating Elegant Butterfly punch (page 184 AC).  This card is a mish mash of new, current and SAB (Sale-A-Bration) freebies.  The smaller butterfly is from a stamp set called Bloomin' Marvellous, as is the patterned paper and ribbon - these are some of the choices available to you FREE for each qualifying order during Sale-A-Bration.   The zig-zag oval stamped background and greeting are from a new stamp set which will be available in the Spring /Summer catalogue launching on 1 February!  Not too long to wait now!

Did I mention that this itty bitty butterfly from Bloomin' Marvellous has a co-ordinating punch?  This too will be available on February 1st!

I can't wait to share what's in store in this lovely new Spring/Summer catty.  Roll on February!

Wanna have MORE sneak peeks?

For my Sunday share, here's another sneak peek - hot on the heels of Sale-A-Bration!  Some of the products on this card will be available on February 1st in our Spring/Summer catalogue!

This was one of the cards I demonstrated at the Sandown show.  The stamp set I used is called Field Flowers and is currently available in the Annual Catalogue (page 78).  The top layer was cut 3 1/2" x 5 1/4".   I sponged all the edges with Whisper White Craft Ink.  Being a pigment ink, it takes longer to dry.  The flower head and stems were stamped in Whisper White Craft Ink too and I used a stamp-amajig to aid accurate placement.

I sponged the doily with Island Indigo - the Primrose Petal heart is from a new specialty DSP from the Spring Summer catty.  The layers were adhered with dimensionals to the card base and it left a slight gap so that I could slip the ribbon through without it bulking up.

Here's the inside.  The colours used were Pool Party and Island Indigo.  There are 7 stamps altogether in this stamp set.  A stem and leaves, two stamps with greetings, four floral images.

I finished with a little tag and attached it to the heart with an antique brad.

Hope you like it.  Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your weekend.

Madison Avenue and Vintage Verses

I whetted your appetite with sneak peeks of 4 of the stamp sets FREE with every qualifying order (£45 spend) during Sale-A-Bration from 22 January to 22 March 2013.  Here is the last one, which is actually a combination of two stamp sets - the one with the leaf and flower is from Madison Avenue, and the sentiment below it is from Vintage Verses.

I've used the large scallop edgelit on the Summer Starfruit card stock, and the Island Indigo DSP (Designer Series Paper) patterned paper on top which was cut smaller so I could stagger the scallops to create this effect.  The patterned paper is called Sycamore Street - a pack of 12 sheets of double sided patterns, 2 each of 6 designs.  This is also FREE with each qualifying order.

The satin ribbon I used is also FREE with each qualifying order - there are 3 spools, 1 in Island Indigo (as shown), a spool of Tangerine Tango, and a spool of Pool Party plus a pack of 3 different coloured buttons consisting of Pool Party, Tangerine Tango and Rich Razzleberry.

If you click on the image, you can probably enlarge it so you can see it better.  On the Island Indigo window frame, you can see I've pierced holes through the cardstock with the help of the Festive Paper Piercing pack.  On the Summer Starfruit layer, I only pierced the corners.  Both the Window Frame dies and Festive Pack are in the Autumn/Winter catalogue on page 30.  To view it online, just click on the picture of the catalogue in my right side bar.  This catalogue will soon be retiring on 31st January.

Two More Days to Sale-a-bration!!!!

The last 3 days I have been living and breathing Sandown, so I can now breathe a sigh of relief that despite the snow, it hasn't dampened my spirits! I particularly enjoyed having the opportunity to work with my fellow team mates and of course, meeting lots of lovely people and sharing my love of stamping with them.

Now it's time to "Celebrate" as we begin the countdown to Sale-a-bration!  It starts on 22 January!  Are you as excited as I am?  I'm finding it difficult to hold things back, as I have an Open House on 2nd February and if I reveal all now, there won't be any surprises left!

For my Sunday share, I'm staying with this stamp set which is one of the freebies you can choose out of a variety of 17items.   Some of them are stamp sets which are exclusive to the Sale-a-bration period , a punch, an embossing folder, DSP, specially selected stamps out of the Annual Catalogue to name but a few!

The Ferry's Wheel and the word "Celebrate" belong to the same stamp set from Sale-a-bration.  The ticket stamps are new with the Spring/Summer catalogue as is the lace doily effect lace.

I hope this has tickled your fancy!  As you can tell......I'm beyond excited!  So many things, and too little time to play ;))) !!!

Final Day at Sandown

Snow or not, I shall be wending my way back to Sandown this Saturday morning. My DH is acting as chauffeur because of the adverse weather and road conditions. Suffice to say, coming home Friday afternoon, I had a near miss with the lamp-post. As I was turning into our road, despite the fact that I was driving really slowly, the tyres just didn't grip and the car slid and only came to a halt because of the curb (thank goodness for the curb!) and missed the lamp-post by a hair's breadth! So I shall not be attempting to drive myself as the minor roads certainly will not have been gritted!

Here's another Sale-A-Bration sneak peek - a different stamp set with matching sentiments "bloomin' marvelous".  Colour palette - Rich Razzleberry, Pretty in Pink  and Crumb Cake.  Can you see something else that is new?  Two-tone coloured ribbon, it's lush!  The ribbon is from the Spring/Summer catalogue.

Well that's all for today folks, wish me luck - I hope the roads have been well gritted and that it won't keep too many people away today.

Day 2 - Sandown Snow!

This is how the stand looked on Day 1 of the show.  Amanda and El did an amazing job with setting out the display don't you think?  I quickly took a photo before the show started yesterday while it was still looking neat and tidy!

Well, today was a different story.  Inside, it looked like this, but outside it looked like this!

The organisers closed the show early at 3.00 pm so that visitors and exhibitors could all get home safely!

I hasten to add, we still managed to fit in 4 sessions of Make & Takes and got to meet people who braved the weather to pay us a visit!  Thank you all.  We really appreciate your taking the time to come and see us!

Demonstration Card and more Sneak Peeks

Today was the first day of the Sandown Creative Crafts Show and this is one of the cards I demoed at the end of the day.

Thank you to all those who braved the cold and visited our stand on A6.  It was lovely meeting you all and such a pleasure to meet and chat with you during and after the Make & Takes.  One lady I spoke to in particular came all the way from Canterbury, which made it even more special!

There are several sneak peeks on this card - the embossing folder is one of the choices in Sale-a-bration which kicks off on 22nd January.

The labels, tags, cut out hearts are all part of a suite - meaning that Stampin' Up! have also designed a stamp set to co-ordinate with the cutting dies.  These won't be available until the launch of the Spring/Summer catalogue on February 1st and which is only just round the corner!  What with valentine's coming up - think of all the lovely things you can create with this set.  It need not be just for a card, you can use the tabs on scrapbook pages, or even make gift wrap by stamping randomly on plain brown paper packaging.

The sentiment "you are simply wonderful" is from Friendly Phrases which is in the current Annual Catalogue.

I'm watching the weather and fingers crossed - hope the snow isn't going to rain on our parade!

Perfectly Penned

Making cards need not be a complicated process.  With just an embossing folder, it can turn a plain sheet of paper into a work of art.  I used Vintage Wallpaper, which is a firm favourite.
Crumb Cake and Baja Breeze go really well together, don't you think?   I love the Bright Blossoms set on page 82 of the Annual Catalogue.  It looks non-descript, but add a button and pearl and it's magic.  Simple, yet effective - a CASE from a swap I had from the lovely Bekka (thank you, Bekka)some time back.  It started off as a square card, but I extended the bottom to include a greeting with Perfectly Penned stamp set.
This is a quick post as I have a class tonight and I'm scheduling this for tomorrow.  Over the next few days my fellow Stampin' Up! Demonstrators and I hope to be meeting lots of new people at the Creative Craft Show in Sandown - more details here.  We have free Make & Takes on the hour throughout the day and it's all very, very exciting!  If you're free, come and see us on stand A6

Stampin' Up! Making a Difference for 25 Years

I thought I'd share this video link as Stampin' Up! celebrates its 25th Anniversary.

I'm SOOo excited!  The invitations for my Sale-a-bration and Spring/Summer catalogue are going out this week.

To mark Stampin' Up!'s  25 years in business, Sale-a-bration is even bigger and better than ever before.  There is a whopping 17 product items from which you can choose your complimentary item for each £45 you spend.  So if you spend £45, you get 1 item free, but if you are feeling flush and spend £90 worth of product, before shipping/handling, you get 2 items free and so on.

If you thought the Autumn/Winter catty was good, just wait till you see this special edition of the Spring/Summer catalogue.  All my guests will receive a complimentary copy when they attend my event on Saturday, 2nd  February, so if you've received an invitation, you won't want to miss it!

Roll on 2nd February, I can't wait to share it with you!

Here's another sneak peek.  If you look closely enough, you'll see a bit of embossing with a new tool which will be available in our Spring/Summer catty!

The winter/autumn catalogue finishes on 31 January so if there are any last minute things you want from there, email me before it's too late!

Enjoy your weekend.

More sneak peeks

I am allowed to show you the finished project but cannot give you any more details till launch date.

I used Serene Silhouettes for the main image - page 75 in the Annual catalogue and the DSP, ribbon and the "hello" stamp are just some of the SAB freebies you can choose from for each £45 spend.

Pop back tomorrow for another sneak peek at a different stamp set!

Little Friends

Here's a card I made for the lovely Diane.  She must have received it by now so it's safe to post.  A mixture of old and new - Concord Crush with Primrose Petals.  I stamped the floral image from Embellished Events with versamark on the front of the card and inked with markers for the inside of the card.  The darling Little Friends set is perfect for colouring with.  This set also contains sentiments, so it's a good one to have in your stash.  You'll find it on page 52 in the annual catalogue.

Here's the inside - I used a thumping technique to infuse a different colour on to the flowers.

Exciting things afoot with Stampin' Up!  I'm in the midst of preparing for a show in Sandown 17-19 January.  You'll find more details here  and of course Stampin' Up!'s biggest annual event Sale-a-bration is just round the corner.

Invitations will be going out soon to my customers and club members.

Sunday Share

Well, I suppose with the new year, one has to expect changes, and Google in its wisdom has changed the way we upload photos on to blogger! As with everything new, it's taken me twice as long to do this - I thought I'd schedule a quick post on Friday night and now it's almost 4.00 am Saturday morning - thank you Google (not) !  I'm having a lie in on Saturday!

My previous post mentioned Stampin' Up!'s limited period promotion from 3rd to 21st January.  I thought I'd do a couple of cards using "My Little Valentine" stamp set which is only available in Clear Mount.  The "Be My Valentine" was stamped in the middle, and I used a stamp from "Forever with You" to encase it.

On the inside, I just stamped "forever" also from Forever with You.  You can find this stamp set on page 132 of the Annual Catalogue.

The "Sealed with Love Simply Sent" set which you get free with purchasing "My Little Valentine"stamp set  contains 10 love notes, 5 each of 2 designs, 20 printed paper buttons, 24 stampin' dimensionals, 10 pieces of white/real red bakers twine.

The love notes measure 8.6 x 11.6 cm, so I just cut Whisper White cardstock double the length but the same width to make a free standing card.  As the envelop is patterned, you can use the actual love note as an address label instead.

Here's the second design.  I used the Adorning Accents embossing folders  and fashionable hearts embosslits.  The stamp images are tiny.  This one has xoxo on it....

...and I stamped the I heart you on the inside.

I don't know about you, but I've found it hard to get those creative juices flowing.  My mojo seems to have taken a hike after the long Christmas and new year break!

All the decorations will be coming down on Saturday and hopefully my mojo will be back by Monday!

Thank you for stopping by - enjoy the rest of your weekend!  Hugs!

Talking Tags!

With Talking Tag, you can send a gift that is uniquely you. Talking Tag is a message label you can attach to cards, invitations, gifts . . . anything! Personalise birthday cards, Christmas gifts or even record quick instructions for a recipe. Now your pictures really can say a thousand words!

How to send a voice message:

  1. Download the FREE TalkingTag™ App on you smartphone from talkingtag.mobi, iTunes® or Google Play™.
  2. Adhere the message tag to your card or gift.
  3. Open TalkingTag™ App and scan the code.
  4. Record your message (recording starts immediately, so make sure you’re ready!).

You will have the opportunity to listen, re-record, cancel, or confirm your message after you’ve completed recording it. Each label allows up to 60 seconds of a greeting, song, or product message.

To play the message, recipients will need to download the app and scan the code. Messages are saved for two years, so they can listen to it over and over.

How to Buy Talking Tags:
Buy ‘em by the sheet! You get 10 tags for just 9.50 €/£7.25 (item 129723). Contact me at
elaine.harding@gmail.com

Watch this to help you understand how the app works!

Helpful Tips:

  • Adhere Talking Tag to a flat surface, otherwise the scanner can’t read the code.
  • Multiple tags can be attached to one surface, but don’t place them too close together. When scanning a message, you shouldn’t be able to see another code on the screen.
  • Do not write or place any decoration over the label.
  • Talking Tag has a permanent adhesive and cannot be repositioned once attached to a surface. Attempting to remove it could tear the label, making it impossible to listen to the content.
  • A Talking Tag message label can only hold one message. Once a message is confirmed, it cannot be deleted or re-recorded.
