3-step stamping à la Stampin' Up!

You've heard of 2-step stamping, well now Stampin' Up! has a Sale-a-bration set called Lotus Blossom which has 3-step stamping to complete the one image!  That's the advantage of photopolymer, you can see where you're stamping everytime so it takes the guess work out of the equation!

That's a clue to what today's video is all about - at the time of filming, I was still heavy with cold - so please excuse my croak!  Enjoy....

You Brighten My Day

It''s been a long old week for me, especially when you're performing under par nursing a horrid cold. Happily, I think I've turned a corner and back to full strength next week!  Best crack on with today's offering!

You Brighten My Day is one of the Sale-A-Bration stamp sets and the house image actually co-ordinates with the What's Up punch in the 2014-15 annual catalogue.

Good news!  If you bought the Holiday Home stamp set from the 2014 Autumn/Winter catalogue, you can still use it all through the year.  Unfortunately, if you didn't, it is no longer available as a stamp set, but you can still purchase it in MDS format.

I've dug this retired stamp set out to use "happy new home" for this card. To create the 3D effect, I used a mask (stamped on a post-it note and cut out then lay it on the first image and stamp again).  In order to create a border, I used the trimmer to cut a 1/2" border on 3 sides, stopping short at the houses,  then hand cut the rest. Finally I adhered some Best Year Ever DSP behind the aperture with dimensionals and attached the whole piece to the card base with Tombow.

Here's the inside of the card.   The list of supplies is below.  Please note the Sale-A-Bration items are listed as free subject to a qualifying purchase order.

Hover over the bottom right of each image for more details, or click to take you directly to my online store if you wish to make a purchase.  If there are multiples of an image, it means that there are choices in wood mount, clear mount or photopolymer.  There are price differences in each, so please ensure you've selected the right one for you.

and here are the Sale-A-Bration Items I used.

Stampin' hugs until next time.  Thanks for stopping by.

Metamorphosis!

What's that got to do with card making I hear you cry!  Well I've been playing with the Butterfly Basics set, and you can't have it without the matching Framelits, so Stampin' Up! bundled them together to save you 15% !  It's an enormous set, mine is wood mount, so it came in two boxes!  The sentiment in one of them referred to a caterpillar, so I couldn't resist a bit of punch art!

The caterpillar was constructed with seven 1/2" circles, sponged in Hello Honey and offset and glued on top of each circle.  I also punched a 1/2" hole on the sentiment piece for the caterpillar to crawl through.  I used the 1/4" hand held punch and owl punch for its eyes, and added a bit of detail with the darkest Calypso Coral Blendability.

The butterfly was cut in Whisper White so I could sponge it in different hues.  This colour combo - Hello Honey, Calypso Coral, Pool Party and Whisper White works well.

We have new Calypso Coral pom poms and I hit on the idea to use them for the body of the butterfly which I attached with a hot glue gun.

Here are the materials I used - the Bundles are available in wood mount, clear mount and photopolymer. Hover on the bottom right of each picture for more details, or click to go directly to my online store.

Hope you like it!

Happy Sunday!
