Just Beachy - Gel card

This is what the ladies made at the June meeting of Technique Club.

One of the techniques we did at June's Technique Club meeting was basic masking. The ladies made this card, stamped some fish, then stamped same fish images on the sticky part of post-it labels which were cut out and adhered to the same previously stamped fish images on Whisper White card stock. With the post-its in place, they then inked and stamped more fish images on top. When you remove the post-its, the foreground images pop out and the other fish appear to be swimming behind them. Inks used were Bordering Blue, Ballet Blue, Pumpkin Pie, Always Artichoke and Taken with Teal. Cardstock used were Bashful Blue, Brilliant Blue and Whisper White. Tools used were 1 3/8" circle punch, 1 1/4" circle punch, Scallop circle punch, cropadile, snips.

They made this pocket to house the gel, and used the scallop punch to create a frame round the window in Brilliant Blue.

This is a close up of the card in the pocket behind the hair gel which gives the impression that the fish are underwater.

  1. Lovely card. love the idea of combining the pocket with the aperture.

  2. Great card Elaine, will have to 'borrow' some hair gel from no 2 son!
