My first post after the Christmas festivities! Hope you all had a wonderful time with your families and loved ones and now looking ahead to the new year, I would like to wish one and all a very Happy and Prosperous 2010!

Today is the eve of another exciting event in the Stampin' Up! Calendar! Do pop back tomorrow for the Inspiring Inkin Blog Hop tour which starts at 10.00 a.m. Demonstrators were allowed to purchase one of four different sets of new exclusive stamp sets for the Sale-a-bration promotion which launches tomorrow so do come back and see what there is on offer!

Now back to this post. This is a birthday card I made recently for a friend. I inked the pear stamp image with Markers so that the inside of the fruit and the pips were different colours. Then using the rocking technique, coloured the outside edge of the stamp to represent the skin of the pear in Old Olive. I'm thrilled with the result.

I dry embossed with Kraft paper for the lower half of the card, used a length of 5/8" Old Olive grosgrain ribbon to overlap the join and some Kraft taffetta on top to co-ordinate with the Kraft card stock. The leaf images were stamped in Old Olive and then hand trimmed and adhered with dimensionals.

I put an insert in as the Old Olive was a tad too dark to write on.
