Top Note Bigz Die
I've been a bad mummy - my daughter had to go into hospital Tuesday before last for some minor surgery, and what with my prelaunch event and other commitments I have not been able to make her a get well card. She said (quite rightly) that there was no point sending a "Get Well" card at this stage - just send a "hello" card, so this is my peace offering! In my defence, I did post it before Mothering Sunday, so she would have a pretty card to open to mark Mother's Day as she is a Mummy now herself. Both the sentiment and little rose embellishment are from my personal collection, they are not currently available in this year's SU IBC, so don't get too excited! The Top Note, however IS! We've waited for this to come to Europe forever and a day, and now it's finally here - yippee!
To achieve the patchwork effect, I applied dry adhesive (sticky strip or similar) covering a 5 1/4" x 6 1/2" piece of scrap card stock (doesn't matter what colour it is, it will be covered up in any case). I measured how big the Top Note is, marked it on the card stock to ensure that the entire area was covered and used the 1 1/4" punch to punch out several squares of DSP from Springtime Vintage then used the squares to cover the entire Top Note area. I then placed this with DSP face down over the die, made my sandwich with the cutting plates and ran it through the Big Shot.
The inside sentiment is from the Level 3 Hostess set, and the little floral detail is from the two-step stamping stamp set Baby Blossoms. This set has 18 stamps altogether, one with a frame and the rest are roses and leaves. Again, these are miniscule, but create adorable miniature images. There is some lovely co-ordinating designer series papers called Springtime Vintage which compliments the stamp set beautifully.
