My Sunday Share - Petal Cone Die

This is a close up of the  petal cones I made for my display at my Spring Mini Launch Open House way back in January!  Sorry I've taken so long to share these properly!  It's just finding time to photograph, upload and blog them.  The Poppy Parade one features the Fruit & Flowers stamp set (page 14), the Lucky Limeade one features the Spiced Paisley stamp set (page 11) and last but not least, the Pool Party one features the Easter Blossoms stamp set (page 6).  All these are available in wood mount or clear mount.  The petal cone die is on page 123 of the main idea book and catalogue.

The embellies on the front features various punches, 1 1/4", 1 3/8", 3/4" circle punches, the Decorative Label Punch,  Large Oval Punch, Scallop Oval Punch with the exception of the one in the top right corner - that was a die cut from the pennant die.

That's not all!  You can "chop" off the bottom and make a cup-cake container with the same petal cone die - I crimped it so that the bottom resembled a cupcake case!  To make the toppers, these were the petal cones with tabs cut off and cut into single cones then adhered to inside of the cupcake base.

You might be able to see it a bit better from this angle - then I simply gathered the tips together, and secured it with a brad and ribbon.

Once upon a time I took part in Julia's WOYWW and you can see my messy work top here where I made some "take-out" boxes using one of my personal stamp sets.

So using the same petal cone die, you can chop off the base and create these "take-out" boxes. You need two pieces as shown above.  You can make them any size you want, so I haven't included measurements, just bear in mind that you need some sort of tab at the bottom to create the box effect.
This was the end result - great way to present home-made chocolates.  Hope you're all enjoying your weekend.

Thanks for stopping by....happy stamping!

  1. So many ideas with one die, thanks, although don't quite see how the base of the cupcake container is made. Love the choc box :)

    1. Hi Rachele - The base is 2 1/2 cones - you need to cut 3, discard one and it will give you that shape. Tks for visiting! xx

I appreciate your comments and thank you for stopping by!
