MDS MONDAY - Delight in the Day

Whoopeedo!  I can't believe I've actually created a page with photos and all in the twinkling of an eye!  This MDS malarkey is the bees' knees!  Who ever thought that l'il ole me could so easily be converted!

My darling boys - read grandsons - yes, you read right! 2010 - I'm very behind, in fact non-existent as far as scrapbooking for me is concerned, and which was my first love before Stampin' Up! invaded my life and I've done nothing but cards since!  If you follow my blog, you may have noticed that the page on cousins here goes back to 2007!

Delight in the Day is a Designer Kit which includes the background papers plus embellishments and is part of the MDS software.  The digital tape (washi tape effect) is part of the MDS package.

Extras used were the Beau Chateau Embellishments

and the Mistyped Alphabet Stamp Brush Set

New digital downloads will be published tomorrow - just check out my Online shop every Tuesday to view the Newest downloads.

Festive Flurry, Christmas Messages

I used Heat & Stick powder and Dazzling Diamonds to add bling to this card, and gave it a trendy twist using the Chalk Talk framelits die to jazz up the greeting from Christmas Messages.

We have new Silver Metallic Encore Ink, which takes forever and a day to dry and prone to being smudged, so a way round it to emboss, emboss, emboss!  Remember to use your embossing buddy, so the silver emboss powder doesn't stick to places where you don't want it to.  I stamped it on window sheet, and added a Frosted Finish (thank you Amanda! - she's my upline, and sent out a plea for some and brought my attention to them!).   That's the lovely diamante on top!  Scrumplicious!

Okay, I dithered about showing you this, as it will be showcased at our next team quarterly meeting - but you can see the possibilities this lovely set has and I've had a blast working with it.

Save 15% if you buy this as a bundle (stamp set and coordinating dies together) - I featured this stamp set in a video a couple of weeks ago which you can see here.

Happy Sunday - thanks for stopping by!

Joyful Christmas

My colour combination here is Cherry Cobbler, Very Vanilla, Gumball Green and Summer Starfruit, the less traditional pointsettia also comes in this pale green.

The stamp set is Joyful Christmas - I paired it with the new Pretty Print TIEF and distressed the edges, and layered it with two separately stamped pointsettias which were then trimmed to lay on top of one another and sponged colour directly on to them.

I applied some sticky strip to the bottom right corner and ruched Cherry Cobbler 1" stitched edge grosgrain ribbon to make it pop.

The sentiment was stamped and punched out with the large oval punch and lastly,  once all the layers were stuck down, I drizzled a pinch of dazzling diamonds to the flower centre.

MDS Monday - Nursery DSP

Although I prefer the 12 x 12 spreads, I am not averse to use the A4 size, so I have the option to print it off myself at home.  With storage space at a premium, I'm being persuaded to store these electronically - dropping photos in are a breeze, and I am more likely to create an album this way than by the old fashioned method, even though I still love the tactile feel of a real page with the textures and 3D effects.

Here is what I used to create this page.  The Nursery papers, Medallion, Simple Stitches, Bakers Twine are all included in the MDS software, as are the punches and labels I used for the photo corner and labels.  The extras from the Embellishments section were Timeless Taffeta Trimmings, Beau Chateau, Vintage Trinkets, Shaped clips.

For reasons of symmetry, when creating the collage, the nursery designer papers came up twice - so ignore it!

Sunday Share - Ronald MacDonald House Charity

Hi everyone!  I thought that for my Sunday share I would highlight this special stamp set.  Did you know that Stampin' Up! donates £2 to the Ronald MacDonald House Charity (RMHC)  for each and every purchase of this stamp set called "Tag It" ?  Click here to learn more about the charity.

What I love about this stamp set is that it has something to suit practically every occasion.  I've used the "Get well soon" a couple of times and I'm looking forward to using the Christmas one for the pressies to go under the tree.   Here's the "Celebrate" one which I used for a birthday card for the man in my life pictured below.

Those of you who have met my hubs know that he sports a 'tache,   and this stamp set " A Fitting Occasion" has a moustache image which I stamped in the middle of the circular happy birthday sentiment - perfect!   I also love that it coordinates with the Chalk Talk framelits dies.

Stamps:  Tag It (pg 45 AC),  A Fitting Occasion (pg 86 AC), Seasonal Sayings (pg 32AC), Tape It (pg 127 AC)
Paper:  Marina Mist, Very Vanilla, Crumb Cake
Inks:   Marina Mist, Crumb Cake
Accessories:   Argyle TIEF, Ghoulish Googlies Designer Kit (retired), Candy Dots - neutrals, Chalk Talk framelits

MDS MONDAY - My first MDS layout!

Now that MDS has launched in the European market, it has finally girded me into action. Technology has never been my forte - but Stampin' Up!'s "My Digital Studio" (MDS for short) is really intuitive and easy to use.  If a technophobe like me can get to grips with it, then anyone can!

This is a picture of my grandson when he was around 6 or 7 - so long ago!  Now he's hit his teens and his voice is breaking and even more scary - he's taller than me!

I chose to do an A4 page, you can then print it at home as most of us can print A4 but not A3. If you prefer a 12 x 12 photobook you will need to find a printer who can and will.   This is currently in the pipeline and once Stampin' Up! sources and appoints an official printer, I will let you know who it is.   Stampin' Up! are keen to appoint a printer who will print true to Stampin' Up! colours.   For now, at least I've actually got photos on my page! I often create double page spreads as class content with mats for where the photos would go so I'm thrilled to be able to actually incorporate photos on the page by the click of a button or drag of the mouse!

Now that the online facility is functional, I was able to download some extras to make this page. Here's what I used -

The chevron DSP is part of the MDS software and is not an extra nor is the antique button, nor the staple at the bottom of the heading "#No1 DAD".  "You Mean the World to me" is also part of the initial MDS software package.

Watch out for new downloadable content each week. You'll find them in the Newest Downloads section.

Calm Christmas

I just cannot believe how fast the week goes past and here we are at the end of another week.  A bit of calm needed I think, so for today's share is the Calm Christmas stamp set.

I love the new Soft Sky colour - it coordinates with the Winter Frost Designer Series Paper stack (p 29) and there are 48 sheets - 24 each of 2 double sided designs measuring 4-1/2" x 6-1/2" (11.44 cm x 16.5 cm) which would be perfect for card fronts.  If you use only a portion of it for each card front, a little will then go a long way!

Thanks for stopping by.

Toil & Trouble

For some, Halloween is an excuse to party!  I thought I'd better squeeze a Halloween card in before it's too late to contemplate it even!  This has been white embossed - remember to use a dust buddy to stop the static and embossing powder sticking to areas you don't want them to be!  Have you spotted our Halloween washi tape and of course our new Witches' Brew DSP and basic gray candy dots.

Here's the inside.  Gorgeous Grunge and the Six Sided Sampler and I also used the Simply Serif Mini Alphabet set to stamp "BOO"!

Watch out for a Halloween video tutorial next week!

Christmas Collectibles, Delightful Dozen

Sunday again?  It's been a manic week - and today I will definitely put my feet up and recuperate from the flurry of activity that was last week!  Thank you to all those who visited our stand at Sandown - it was lovely to meet you all!

Today's card features the Christmas Collectibles new ornament punch and coordinating stamp set. I've combined old with new here - the greeting is from Delightful Dozen.

I stamped the ornament in Gold Encore Ink, dried it with the heat tool, stamped another image in real red and cut out the strip to overlay on top of the ornament and added some pearls.

The Pretty Print TIEF was embossed with Real Red Core'dinations card stock and sanded.  The script is just scribbling and isn't in any specific language nor is it meant to be read per se.  You'll find the product code at the bottom right of page 24 in the newly launched Autumn Winter seasonal catalogue.

I've used the Deco Framelits to cut out my greeting and the mat.  The card base and mat is Old Olive, and I stamped both the ornament and sentiment on Whisper White cardstock.

Thanks for stopping by!  Happy Sunday!
