Mini Treat Bag Series #3 - Big or Small?

This is Week 3 of my Mini Treat Bag Series.  In week 1 & 2 we altered the basic components for constructing a mini treat bag into a pocket card for shirt and 'neckerchief and tuxedo respectively, so this week we'll be making a bag with a gusset.  Enjoy!

Painted Petals partners From the Garden

Last weekend was epic!  I attended a Quarterly Meeting run by my lovely upline Amanda in Portsmouth, on the Saturday, then had to rush home and complete some of the projects and prepare for my own team's Quarterly Meeting for the very next day!   As you read this, hubby and I will be celebrating 40 years of marriage in Venice and this time round, we'll definitely do the Gondola thing!

These were the swaps I made using Marina Mist, Wild Wasabi and Smoky Slate.  From the Garden has a coordinating die called Handpicked Framelits and the stamp set and Framelits can be purchased as a bundle. Bundles, could I resist it?  Heck, no!  Now you can see why.   I just love, love, love this combo.  I was time poor and needed something quick but still with a Wow factor, and I hope you'll agree it does.

It looks fresh - just what we need at Spring time!  I'm no gardener, but I can do gardening on cardstock! wink!  This way I don't kill the plants! lol!

I separated the cards out so you can see the four different shape die cuts better. All four dies were laid out on coaster board and run through the Big Shot at the same time.  This meant I only made 5 passes through the Big Shot, instead of 18 times!  I also managed to get 18 die cuts from one piece of coaster board which was also great for stamping on.

These two stamp sets are from the Spring/Summer catalogue which is valid until 2 June and as yet, I don't know its fate, i.e., whether it will carry over into our new catty, which, by the way goes live on June 3rd!

So here are the materials I used - hover over the bottom right hand corner for more details of the items I used.  If there are multiple images, it means each image has a code attached to either wood mount, clear mount, or photopolymer.

Happy stampin' !

Mini Treat Bag Series #2 - Going Formal?

Continuing with my Mini Treat Bag Series in Week 2.  We had the casual look last week, so this week we're dressed to the nines!  For the wording, I used a combination of Guy Greetings and the one from Painted Petals.  The Little Thinlits die featured in this video is on the retired list!

They'd make great wedding favour place settings too, don't you think?   You could put the Groom's name inside, or a photo of the happy couple!

We have our newly launched Retirement List, but don't forget you have Wednesday's Weekly Deals too!

A Balloon Bash birthday!

Oh my word - time is just slipping by too fast!  A skip and a beat and here we are - it's Sunday again and a last minute panic to update my blog!

My youngest grandson turned 5 recently and the same can be said of him growing up.  It only seemed like yesterday when he was a babe in arms!  This is the card I made him, an easel card with a bit of a twist.

The front is pretty plain.....

Open it up and there's an explosion of colour!

I created an extra back panel for the balloons and confetti.

Here are the supplies I used - hover over the bottom right hand corner for more details, or click to take you directly to the item on my online store.

Have a great weekend wherever you are - I hope the weather forecast is for warm and sunny days ahead!

Mini Treat Bag Series #1 Shirt & Tie

This Mini Treat Bag Thinlits set has so many possibilities so I thought it would be great to share a few ways in which to use the die for the bag part.  Did you know that you can convert it into a pocket for a card?

We did this in class this month, but in the coming weeks, I will help you discover just how many other ways you can use this beauty!

It's Wednesday - so scroll down for the new weekly deals!

Balloon Bash and Cool Technique!

Good Day everyone! (common Aussie greeting but more with a twang). It seems appropriate especially no matter which part of the world you wake up in, your morning could be our afternoon or night even!

I have this fabulous technique which my stampin' sister, the lovely Hayley, shared at our team training before Stampin' Up! withdrew the Blendabilities.    It was too cool a technique not to share with my club ladies and if you're lucky enough to have ones that work, give this a try!

Rub your dust buddy over the black cardstock - my ladies were given Basic Black as well as Black Chalk Board so they could make a comparison between the two.  Stamp your image with versamark and heat emboss with white embossing powder then use the brush end of your blendabilities to colour with.  On larger areas, pay more attention to your brush strokes, as they will be visible.

The colours I used here are Melon Mambo, Coastal Cabana and Daffodil Delight and I coloured the Rhinestones in Daffodil Delight.  Don't you just love it?

Here are the items I used.

Have a lovely day!
