Orchids Forever!

Are you blessed with green fingers?  Unfortunately, I'm not - and when I've been given anything green, it's tantamount to signing a death warrant for the poor plant - but for some reason, I have more success with orchids - probably by luck rather than judgement.  I put them in the bathroom and they seem to thrive there and keep flowering for weeks.  I confess it's not through any of my efforts, but more by neglect.  The humidity in the bathroom from regular hot baths or steamy showers seem to keep them pretty healthy!

I had fun making this card for my sister-in-law and her husband's anniversary and before I realised, I'd used 4 different stamp sets and 4 different sets of dies to make just one card!  So easy to get carried away.  Then I thought, why wouldn't you, if you have the tools and means to do it with, they're meant to be used after all.   I hope they liked it.

Here's a challenge for you - can you identify which stamps and which dies I used?    Watch out for a video tutorial  on this sometime in the future!

Happy  Sunday!

Lemon Zest, Coffee Cafe & Swirly Bird Combo

Look at your stamp sets and see how it can be used together.  We lost Gorgeous Grunge, so I've been looking at all my stash and listing stamp sets which have ink splatter patterns in it.  One of them is Swirly Bird.

My most recent favourite is the Lemon Zest set,  but I love the Coffee Cafe one too, so why not combine the two so I used both to create this - how about a cooling glass of lemonade, or orangeade or limeade even?

Did you know that if you click on the pictures, it will take you direct to the item in my online store which will give you more detail on the product and you can place an order if you wish.  It would be very much appreciated.

Never too old to learn!

Do you remember  "A Nice Cuppa"?  If not, you can see it here.  They retired the stamp set and dies and those darling embellishments which went with it together with the 6"x 6" DSP stack and it made me sad because I think here in the UK we are a nation of mostly tea drinkers.  In our household, it's 50/50 - hubby can't start his day without a cup of coffee and  usually consumes 3 or 4 a day with the occasional tea, whereas I usually have tea and occasionally a coffee.  Generally speaking caffeine in coffee keeps me awake, so I tend to ask for de-caffeinated especially if we're dining out and rounding our meal off with coffee in the evening.

This week, I learnt that to make the perfect brew - you need to use purified water, or filtered water, and freshly boiled water poured over the tea bag and leave it to steep  in the cup for 5 minutes before it's ready to drink.  Apparently it's even better if it's in a red cup (not essential but there is some psychological jiggery pokery to the brain that says it is)!  So of course  we acquired a water filter jug to test this claim and much to our surprise, it really did taste better and you don't get that awful scum on the top of your cup.   Since making that discovery, hubby is drinking tea and coffee in equal measure!

So as I don't have the stamps or tools to showcase a cup of tea, here's one with coffee instead!

Happy Sunday!

Entire 2017-18 Annual Catalogue Washi Tape Collection in a box!

Yay!  I made a box that stores the entire collection of washi tape collection in our current catalogue and that's made me SO happy!  Nice and organised all in one place!  lol!  Little things amusing little minds .... he he!  Do you want to make your own too?

The Foil Frenzy Specialty DSP is just the right weight of DSP to make it fairly sturdy - enjoy!  I haven't shown you how to make the label so that you can create your own and be as fancy as you like. Enjoy!

The materials needed to make the box is listed below, but I have also listed the materials I used for making the tag pictured in the photo, and these additional materials appear after the Simply Scored tool.
