Sneak Peek Lasting Lily

I had some sad news almost a fortnight to the day before Christmas Day that my Great Uncle had passed away in Australia.  He was my Nan's favourite brother and the last surviving brother from her generation.

Sympathy cards are not the ones you want to make, but it's a fact of life and at some point or other, a necessity as we lose someone we love.

When I first saw this Sale-a-bration set called Lasting Lily it just wasn't one I hankered for as it is a Level 2 set but having qualified for it, I elected to choose it as my free set and I'm so glad I did.  Making this card to send to my cousins was cathartic in a way. Being thousands of miles away, I could not attend the funeral which was scheduled for 20 December.  The lily stamp is one of Stampin' Up!'s "dist-ink-tive" stamps with light and shade built into the structure of the stamp and it is stunning.  It's not until you have a play that you realize how easy it is to create a card that looks absolutely fabulous with just simply putting ink on paper through simple stamping.

The colours I chose were Soft Sea Foam for the stems, and the lily was in Gorgeous Grape.  I added some organza ribbon on the back (also one of the free Sale-a-bration items with a qualifying order) and adhered the sentiment which was white embossed and die cut with the Stitched Shapes Framelits.

Here are the supplies I used for this card - please note that the stamp set is a Level 2 Sale-a-bration set and is free subject to a qualifying order placed excluding shipping/handling.  The Organdy combo ribbon pack is also a Sale-a-bration item, free with a qualifying Level 1 order.

Sneak Peek - Incredible Like You

Squeal!  Not long to wait for the new Spring Summer catalogue - it launches on 3 January and if you've shopped with me in the last year, your own personal copy will be winging its way to you shortly.

So for today's video here's another sneak peek!  I'm loving the fact that Stampin' Up! are offering cards and envelops  in Night of Navy in 2 sizes.   You'll find them on page 26 in the 2019 Spring Summer catalogue -  "Happiness Blooms Memories & More Cards & Envelops".  You could of course use the Happiness Blooms Memories & More Card Pack to make up some greeting cards, but I chose to stamp mine instead.

I made a basics card (1st picture) for beginners - so long as you have some card stock and a few ink pads, some acrylic blocks to mount your photopolymer stamps on and a paper trimmer, you're good to go.

This one is for the casual crafter - someone who likes to add a personal touch and make her own for special occasions and probably has invested in some punches and some accessories for embellishing their cards.

Lastly, the one below is for an avid crafter - someone who crafts regularly at least once a week or daily and owns a Big Shot die cutting machine with dies and embossing folders in their arsenal!  This last card features a new set of Rectangle Stitched Framelits Dies (page 28) and the Lace Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder (page 11).

Links to supply list have been added now that the new Spring/Summer catalogue has gone live.  This list also includes items used for the casual and avid crafter cards.

Thanks for popping by.

Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas everyone!

A quick review of all the christmas projects I did this year!

I have been saving publishing this one - made with the Christmas Bauble dies, I masked and sponged the baubles then used shimmer paint to highlight them.

May all your wishes come true!

Bespoke Gift Packages

Just squeezing the last couple of festive items I've made as gift packaging - bespoke gift packaging using my favourite Merry Merlot and Gray Granite colour combo this year.   The distinctive stamped bow (from Wishing you Well) is an all time favourite too and it finishes off a project beautifully without the bulk.  I really hope it will carry on into next year's catalogue, but we shall have to wait and see.

I re-discovered the Seasonal Wreath Dynamic Textured Impressions embossing folder, but if truth be told, it's been hidden in the drawer untouched for many months.  It may even be longer than that as I think this embossing folder might have been in last year's catalogue as I made a mental note that I really must dust off those cobwebs and use it this year.  Embossing folders, a couple of circle punches - one for the mat layer and the smaller circle punch for the sentiment make quick easy cards like the one below which is a  3-1/2" square card.

More bespoke packaging, but this time I used  the Stitched Labels Framelits dies and Stitched Shapes Framelits as well.   The card was made in C6 size, with the same layout as the square card above.

I used the Magi image from Illuminated Christmas and coloured it with a Stampin' Blends.  The other stamp sets I used were  Peaceful Noel,  Timeless Tidings,  and the Tags and Tidings Bundle.

Peaceful Noel - Petal closure Box

Last Christmas Project for this year - it's a wrap!  Literally - lol!  I made this in the Joyous Noel Specialty DSP originally, but because of its popularity, demand outstripped supplies and sadly I then had to go back to the drawing board to make it with different papers!

I discovered that Broadway Bound Specialty DSP had box quality weight sheets that would fit the bill.  All you need is a 1" x 12" strip - economic or what?  Theoretically you can make 12 out of each 12 x 12 sheet!

The sprig punch is fab - it's designed to cut 2 sprigs which are joined together at the base - so they double up as reindeer antlers too!!!

Are you ready for Christmas?  Keep calm,  breathe and relax!  ....at least for the duration of this video!

Yes, it's true, the Peaceful Noel photopolymer bundle will be gone after January 2, 2019.  It's that time of year!  I have enjoyed using it though.
